January 30, 2022 - Flying the Champ to Indian Hammock

Bruce and I flew the Champ back to Indian Hammock on this gorgeous January day in Florida.  Today, Indian Hammock was Essex Skypark south, with a bunch of Essex Skypark pilots here:  Chip, Charlie, Joe, Dave.  Chip's work flying partner Mike is based here.

This is Mike's beautiful Stearman.

Chip briefing Charlie before he takes the RV-7 up.  Gordon, also a resident here, owns the RV-7.

Gordon taking Bruce up for a ride in the big Stearman.

I got to fly Gordon's RV-7.  (Chip flew with me for insurance purposes).  This RV has 20 more horsepower than mine.  It flew great.  Hopefully my RV-7 won't find out that I cheated on it.

I also flew Bruce's Champ solo for the first time.

A loaded Trike.

Taking off at Indian Hammock.

Five minutes later, we pass the main hangar ....

Heading east and looking south.

Now looking north.

Another look at that big solar array.

Sort of looks like coffee after it has set out in a cup for a week or two.

Fun aviation day.
